Wilmington International Airport (ILM)
The airport is 10 minutes from downtown Wilmington and 30 minutes from Figure Eight Island. Please note that Uber/Lyft/Taxi is readily available to take you from the airport to the Island but returns may be limited.

Downtown Wilmington is a historic river district known for its scenic Riverwalk along the Cape Fear River, lined with independent boutiques, bars, micro-breweries, restaurants and art galleries. Its historic architecture, walkability, and proximity to coastal beaches like Wrightsville Beach make it a popular travel destination. For your convenience, we have booked a block of rooms at the Aloft Hotel on the Riverfront. If you choose to book rooms at another hotel downtown such as the Hotel Ballast or Embassy Suites, you can still walk to the Aloft Hotel to catch a shuttle ride to the wedding.
Wrightsville Beach is one of the South’s best beaches known for its long white sand beach, coastal cuisine, and abundance of activities. Rent bikes, paddle boards, or surf boards for an adventure-filled day then kick back to the sound of the waves as you chow down on local seafood. Wrightsville Beach is 20 minutes to downtown Wilmington and 30 minutes to Figure Eight Island.
Figure Eight Island is a gorgeous maritime forest oasis with a miles long beach and low-traffic roads perfect for biking. For those staying on Figure Eight, a car is recommended as there are no restaurants or shops on the Island. Please note that beach access is restricted to residents and renters.
